Artist Biography

Christina Carfora was born and raised in Wisconsin.  Her parents were teachers, so summers were spent driving across the country sightseeing.  Her love for travel grew over time, and her wanderlust has compelled her to visit twenty-three countries thus far.  In 2010, she had the opportunity to live in Indonesia for one year. Christina’s experiences abroad inform and inspire her artwork.

Christina received her B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee in Sculptural Ceramics and Art Education and a M.A. from the University of Houston- Clear Lake in Visual Arts and Humanities.  In 2013, she completed a six-month residency at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. In 2017, she completed her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida in Ceramics and then moved to Boulder, Colorado to teach and continue her studio practice.
